Chris Greig and The Merchants are a Glasgow based four piece Indie-rock group made up of Chris Greig on Lead Vocals/Guitar, Chris Johnstone on Lead Guitars/Vocals, Donald Russell on Bass/Vocals and Daniel Jack on Drums/Vocals. Today I’ll be reviewing their single ‘Colour’s which was released April 19th 2019.
‘Colours’ has a really fun, fast paced intro, a lot of vibrant chords and high intensity, it’s a really strong entry into what’s already shaping up to be a strong track all around. The vocals are equally superb, they fit well with the instrumental backing, and aren’t obscured or dominated by them, which can happen from time to time, regardless of how talented the vocalist is. I really liked the track, I got a very mid 2000s Mika vibe from it, which I intend and hope is taken as a compliment. But as I said up top, this is just a really tight, well composed track that’s the right amount of catchy, and very much a memorable track that I’ll listen to again in the future.
So that’s what I thought of Chris Greig and The Merchants single ‘Colours’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. While you’re at it make sure and show support for the group by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
