Jon Jafari, more commonly known as JonTron, is an American internet personality and YouTuber, noted for co-founding (and formerly co-hosting) popular Let’s Play channel Game Grumps alongside animator, voice actor and YouTuber, Arin Hanson (also known as Egoraptor).
He is also noted for co-founding NormalBoots (formerly Normal Boots with a space), which he created alongside YouTuber and internet personality Austin Hargrave (also known as PeanutButterGamer) as a content portal to share and boost video content outside of the YouTube platform. Jon also runs his own YouTube channel, called the JonTronShow, and we’ve talked about that one the site before if you want to check out my Top 10s for the ‘classic’ and ‘modern’ eras of JonTron then click here and here. This also isn’t my only time reviewing Jon’s music either, and if you’re interested in checking that out click here.
Today, though, I’ll be reviewing ‘Titenic – The JonSong’ which is actually edited together by from audio from his video on a Titenic. The video was edited by The Gregory Brothers, a quartet who make musical comedy videos, via their YouTube channel Schmoyoho. The track was officially released June 9th 2015, and you can find out what I thought about it below.
‘Titenic: The JonSong (Ft. Schmoyoho)’ is a strange one, technically it’s just a musical remix of some audio from one of his videos, but despite that it’s surprisingly catchy, it’s got a distinct chorus, sticks in your head, has the perfect balance of tempo and melody, and it’s just silly. Sure it’s more likely to appeal to fans of JonTron, especially since it’s by its very nature is self-referential to his content, but it’s really good. Fantastically edited and composed, and the kind of song you could listen to on repeat and not get bored.
So that’s what I thought of JonTron’s single and if you want to check it out then head on over to YouTube. Also for the latest update and to support JonTron make sure to follow him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
