Nōva is a classically trained violinist and singer/songwriter from Montreal, Canada and today I will be reviewing their single ‘Heavy Hitters’ which was released February 15th 2019.

‘Heavy Hitters’ has a static distortion quality to it, that evokes old style recording formats, I’m just old enough for that to trigger nostalgia. After that it explodes forward, with a fast paced, high energy, electronic track. Nōva’s voice is phenomenal, she balances her naturally talented vocal skills, with a synth backing, to produce this expertly composed track. This is another ones of those songs that I came across entirely as a consequence of running this site, but which I’ve come to listen to regularly afterwards.
