I enjoyed my chat with Seas, Starry and you can check that out below.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
As a band, we like a lot of different styles of music and I think that shows in our own work. There’s definitely a bit of psych, kraut, pop, slowcore and noise rock in our new record. We’ve experimented with ambient drone before and I suppose our last LP featured more post rock.
What are your influences?
Sonic Youth, Can, Yo La Tengo, Zep, cats and the film Heathers.
Do you have a process for writing your songs? /Which of you writes the songs?
Not really, though our song writing is definitely a collaborative process where we all contribute ideas.
What song do you remember most from your childhood?
Fleetwood Mac – Tell Me Lies
What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Line up changes after our first record meant that we were unable to continue to play that material. We saw it as an opportunity to re-examine what we were doing. Ultimately this added to the addition of vocals and a big change in direction.
How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?
You can find us at seasstarry.bandcamp.com where you can listen to and purchase all our releases so far. We’re also on all the usual streaming services, just search for Seas, Starry.
