Andrew Patterson is a Belfast based singer-songwriter and musician and today I’ll be reviewing his Christmas release which was written while he was living in Dublin. The track features a Dave McConnell on string viola. This isn’t my first time reviewing the artist, and you can check out more by clicking here and here. But for now check out my review of ‘Something in December’ below.

‘Something in December’ is slow, and sweet, it’s a Christmas song, but more melancholic than your standard Christmas carol. It’s nice though, one of those songs that gets stuck in your head. Patterson has a pleasant voice, it’s like sitting by the fire on a cold winter’s night. Bad analogies aside, he really makes this track work with his slow, melodic singing. The instrumental section is strong as well. It just kind of stays with you. That’s probably the biggest compliment I can give this track, it’ll stick with you for a while, it’s not just something for December.

So that’s what I thought of Andrew Patterson’s new Christmas single and you can check that out on YouTube and make sure to get a copy for yourself when the single is released on Monday 26th November 2018. And in the meantime you can support the artist by following him on Facebook and Twitter.
